Even if artists like Peaches, Adele, Lizzo, Missy Elliott or others counter this &#8211; either in their own physicality or through their choice of performers &#8211; bodies with disabilities continue to appear as deviations from the norm. This reflects in movement qualities: Movements are fluid or deliberately staccato, most of the times powerful and always controlled by an envisaged image. The bodies are symmetrical, stand upright and stage their own agility and elasticity. In &#8220;Contours\u201d, these ideals are questioned by the bodies that inhabit it: bodies with disabilities.
